POREČ is one of the Roman towns on Istrian west coast, about two thousand years old and one of the nicest and most picturesque towns on the croatian coast. The buildings remaining from different periods of its long life can tell us how people used to live in the past. Almost all stiles and periods in history of urban development are present.
The Old town is surrounded by the fortification walls and towers. The most visited old town street is Decumanus street, full of palaces built from a few wealthy families, such as GOTHIC PALACE, BAROQUE PALACE OF SINČIĆ and others.
Monuments that must be visited are: PENTAGONAL TOWER, COUNTY MUSEUM, VERGOTTINI PALACE, PALACE ZUCATTO, ISTRIAN PARLIAMENT HALL, ANTIQUE TEMPLES (dedicated to Neptun and Mars), ROMANESQUE HOUSE, HOUSE OF THE TWO SAINTS, SQUARE MARAFOR, MATIJA GUBEC SQUARE, FRAN SUPILO SQUARE and many other places which are telling their own stories. You cannot forget to visit EUFRASIUS BASILICA, part of the UNESCO heritage since year 1997.
Poreč and its surroundings also have planty to offer

cycling, mini golf and water sports including diving, sailing, paragliding and
jet skiing.
The coast offers approximately 15 square km of open and secluded bathing areas with a diverse coastline.
